This is particularly true when children are involved. Whether through skillful negotiation or aggressive litigation, we consistently deliver the finest legal results.

If you are struggling with a family law dispute, telephone our law firm today at 480.994.8824. Some of the matters we handle are as follows:

Divorce

Divorces are highly personal and often very emotional. Divorces can range from relatively amicable negotiations to high conflict litigation. When parties have children or significant assets, divorces can involve complex issues. We understand the uncertainty and anxiety our clients are experiencing. We will develop legal strategies to best suit your particular needs and to ensure that your rights are protected.

Child Custody

Child custody refers to decision-making authority over a child. Parenting time (sometimes called "visitation") refers to how much time is spent with the child. Child custody and parenting time are often the most important issues in a divorce. In Arizona, Courts strive to make arrangements that would be in the best interest of the child. Courts consider several factors to make this determination. We are sensitive to the personal nature of these proceedings and will diligently work with you to obtain the best possible outcome.

Child Support

Disputes often arise regarding the amount of child support one parent should pay to the other. In Arizona, Courts consider several factors to determine the appropriate support and follow certain statutory guidelines. To determine the amount of child support, Courts consider the parents’ incomes, the number and ages of all children that are supported, the cost of health insurance and childcare, and parenting time. We will help you ensure that the guidelines are properly applied and your child is appropriately supported.

Spousal Maintenance

In Arizona, either party may seek spousal maintenance (also called “alimony”) in connection with a divorce or legal separation. Courts consider several factors to determine whether to grant this relief, and the issues involved may be complex. Whether you are seeking spousal maintenance or you have been requested to pay spousal maintenance, we will work hard to ensure that the result is equitable and fair in your specific circumstances.

Post-Decree Modification

After a divorce decree is entered, the parties must follow the judge’s orders. Later on, however, a change in circumstances may make the order unfair. For example, one party may receive a significant pay increase.  Based upon circumstances such as this, the other party often would request a change in child support obligations. And even child custody or spousal maintenance may need to be reevaluated. Whatever the case may be, we will analyze your particular circumstances and recommend a course of action.

Grandparents’ Rights

We understand the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren. If you have been unreasonably denied visitation with your grandchildren, you may have a remedy. Arizona Courts protect grandparents’ visitation rights when certain factors apply. We will evaluate your particular circumstances and negotiate or litigate your rights.

Orders of Protection

Allegations of domestic violence are very serious. When you are the victim of domestic violence, you may be harmed both physically and emotionally. When domestic violence has been alleged against you, you will be called on to defend your actions and could face criminal liability. In either case, we understand the sensitive nature of such allegations and will represent you aggressively to protect your legal rights.

Step-Parent Adoption

There are many benefits, both legal and emotional, to step-parent adoption. Typically, the process of adoption by a step-parent can be relatively simple and straight-forward. It can give the step-parent decision-making rights and can give the child rights to inheritance and a sense of official belonging. We are pleased to provide this service to unite families.
